Hannah just graduated from New Buffalo High School in Michigan. Since I was going to her, she was in charge of the location for her photos. She choose well, what a gorgeous setting for a gorgeous girl.
Hannah is headed to Central Michigan University and she won the Central Michigan University Centralis Gold Scholarship! She is ONE SMART COOKIE.
I love shooting through things and getting true laughter from people, just makes such a natural beautiful photo. I love the way Hannah crinkles her nose when she laughs.
Freckles. Love freckles.
Hannah, I wish you all the very best on your new college adventure, I have no doubt that you will continue to live life to the fullest, no matter what.
]]>I hope that all of you have an especially good day today, hope your families spoil you.

Such a beautiful young lady, Jenna. She is strong willed, opinionated in a very intelligent manner. She is a great older role model for her younger siblings.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
Don't let that serious face scare you off, Jimmy is a sweet, caring young man. He is quiet and introspective, but when he speaks, he is funny and quite smart.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
I die. Beautiful light on a beautiful little girl. Miss Jaelyn, a little fashion Diva. She was a natural at posing and such a sweetheart.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
Janelle, the Spunkie twin. I am always so drawn to the spunky kids. They just make me smile. Seriously though, how can you resist that face?
I enjoyed spending time with the Barbarossa Family, next time we need to get Mom and Dad in on the photo shoot. Joy? Jim? I'm looking at you two. :D
I am drawn to spunky kids. I love them. I love their challenge. I love the twinkle in their eyes.
Meet my friends, the Rone family. There is spunky among them, but funny enough. I see the same twinkle in Mom and Dad's eyes.
I can imagine Mom and Dad in their younger days...being just as SPUNKY. Love it.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer l Family
Yep. See that sparkle? Genius.
Our setting was a gorgeous fall day, windy, but beautiful. Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso, IN has great little areas to photograph in and I love exploring and finding new spots there every time I visit.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer l Family
I want a family photo of my family hugging together. Somehow I am not too sure MY family will do as well as the Rones did it. So much squishy love going on there.
I see a peeker amongst the ticklefest. ;)
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer l Family
Mike and Louann, these kids may be running circles around you and have you running in circles, but if you both keep looking at each other with this kind of love it's all you need to get by.
]]>Antonia.
Oh my, talk about a natural. She was such a trooper with me. Climbed where I told her to climb, walked in chest high weeds, she did whatever it took to get her shots. I love that she trusted me that it would be worth it in the end.

She had a great serious face, but her smile could light up a room.

She is easy going and fun loving. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. I so enjoyed our time together...and squealed like a school girl myself when she told me she wanted to end her session with a horse. I know, right? *sqqqueeeel*
First we started at Ogden Gardens in Valpo. Can't beat it's scenery, it was pretty busy there that day, not with just photographers, but there was a party in the park too. We worked it out, cause that's how I roll.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
Isn't she stunning???? Oh and I might be obsessed with shooting through trees, or objects. Just sayin.
Alyssa had FABULOUS hair and she could work a braid. I was a bit jealous of her skills.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
This girl rocked the "toss your jacket over your shoulder" pose. Just a natural beauty. Makin my job easy. She even had a little audience at this point. Crowd stopper.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
Remember that shoot through tree obsession??? Yep. But doesn't it look awesome? I love the feel of catching someone in their own element, casually sitting on a bench. #nailedit

So many GREATS from this session.
And now...the squealing...ready???
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
I am not kidding when I say, it was gloomy the ENTIRE session until we arrived at the house to shoot with the horse and then BAM...sunsetting. It was...magical....couldn't have ended any better....horse and sun? Dies happy. ;)
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
Alyssa, you. will. go. far. You are a sweet, beautiful spirit...and go down as one of my favorite sessions...ever. Thank YOU for allowing me the pleasure.
]]>Meet Tyler.

It didn't take him long to relax and realize that getting your photos done by me was a good time. Truth? He realized really quick that I am a crazy person, willing to do or say anything to make him relax.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
As you know, it takes crazy to KNOW crazy. lol.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
If you can't tell. It rained. We shot on.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
He had such a great serious face. Killin it as the rain fell more from the sky.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
What a trooper, right? Coffee Creek in Chesterton offered us these different looks and was beautiful, rain or not.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
Tyler, thanks buddy for being YOU and hanging out with me in the rain. You were a blast and your Mom will love you forever for cooperating in your photos. GOOD LUCK in your future adventures.
]]>Meet Miss Elizabeth. I went to high school with her parents, do you know how weird it is to photograph KIDS of KIDS I went to school with??? How do we have kids that are this old??? Anyway...Elizabeth is a pleasure, she is smart, athletic and easy to be around. I loved our session.
Northwest Indiana High School Senior PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
We started her session at the gorgeous Ogden Gardens in Valpo this past fall. It was so lush and just the absolute best setting to this session.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
I love the fall colors.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
This location is deceiving. There was a bunch of garbage around, yet, this little patch of weed/wildflowers with the gorgeous blue windows is absolutely gorgeous. I know people look around and think, yuck, yet THIS is what I see with my lens. Beauty. I love that my seniors trust me to go stand in the weed/wildflowers to capture the best of them.
Northwest Indiana PhotographerNorthwest Indiana Photographer
Elizabeth is so great she made this run down location look GOOD.
I wish the very best to this girl on her journey through senior year and look forward to seeing her go far in college and life.
Thank you Masson family for allowing me in on this momentous event.

Annah -Valparaiso High School Senior 2014.
What an exciting time in a child's life...Graduation.
I had the pleasure of photographing this senior. You see, I was a senior once...with her Mom and Dad. Now she is a senior. That is crazy. How do we have kids that are this old, yet....we aren't????

Life is so wonderful as a child...do you ever see a kid on his parent's lap and think, "Wow, how great does that feel? How safe."
Cheeks!
There were tractors driving around, it was the stillest I think Stone was the entire session...which allowed me some fun time with sun flare. :)
*cue You Are My Sunshine song*
And he's off...again. :)
Eyes to die for....love him, love his family...HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY STONERS. ;)
]]>
Aren't pregnant mommas so beautiful? It's amazing STILL to me that our bodies grow life.
]]>Teehee. I could really truly photograph babies all day long. Look at those teeth poking out...how adorable is he?
Loved the kids in matching outfits...too cute.
Getting everyone together for family photos is priceless.
]]>Aren't they sweet? Most of their hugs were death grips around the neck, is there any better hug from a brother than a choking one? lol.
Even Mom and Dad got the great neck hugs. :)
Brandy and her family have now moved to the Indianapolis area, I wish them very much love and hope they come see their Northwest Indiana Photograper. Me. Stacie. :)
]]>
Rachel was one of my first Seniors to use the indoor studio space. :)
Rachel was sweet, quiet and a true beauty.
Loved her side braid, I've tried several times since this to do this with my own hair. I have given up.
Of course no Northwest Indiana session would complete without a trip to the beach. :)
I wish Rachel the utmost success in her college adventure...Now life gets fun...ENJOY!!!
]]>
The session was held in their backyard, it was amazing the way the sun came through the trees...and I loved their choice in outfits. :)
I mean, seriously. What other fun family do you know that has a bathtub on their back deck? Mrs. Perry told me that it was purchased to bath their dogs, but has turned into a great ice and drink holder for parties. I say, it's a great photo opt for the family to get their photos in. LOL.
Until the tub tips...and even then it makes for a great photo shot. LOL.
When they said they were an "Apple" family I was thinking more like PIE....but THIS is the MODERN DAY Apple family she was referring to....and sooooo 2013.
Thank you to the Perry family for the laughs and for having me be a part of your family photos.
my how you have grown. such a great little girl. active. sweet. ONE!
She was on the move, fast. Look at those teeth. :) Love me some baby teeth.
She would WHIP that Raggedy Ann doll around, but doesn't she look like an angel doing it? LOL. Great first birthday outfit, the Raggedy Ann was embroidered on by her Great Gramma. :)
]]>
All of the kids were so well behaved...I love not having the chase anyone down, though I will if necessary. LOL.
Such beautiful eyes. I think it's par for this group, they ALL had gorgeous eyes!
Teehee, I love this one. What a great big sister these two have.
Love new big teeth. Such a great transitional time for young one's faces. :)
Who can say CHEEEESEEE??? Little boys are the best at the Cheesey Faces. :D
DROOOOL! Love babies.
They are plaidtastic. Plaid brothers. :D
*gah* I love catching the kids in the middle of a laugh. I am most positive that my lame jokes brought out this face...and I'm so thankful for my slew of lame jokes to make this happen. :D
I love his hair...though it makes it difficult to see his beautiful big brown eyes.
My favorite buddy. You've come a long way Stone...and so honored to be a part of it. <3
Wanna surprise Dad (Father's Day - June 16th) with a new family photo? How about a S.O. You Session? Give me a call, I have a hard time keeping secrets but I promise to keep it on the down low til his surprise is revealed.

This is Kirstin...she is awesomingly 13. Yes, I know "awesomingly" is not a word, but it kinda is in this case.
13. Such a funny age, such an important start to the journey to adulthood. Kinda crazy. As much as you teach your kids while they are younger, now they come to age where those beliefs and values are put to the test. It's a really scary time as a parent, but I remember quite enjoying my teen years.
Kirstin, you are a very intelligent, strong, beautiful young lady. May you continue along that path and continue with your journey towards FANTASTIC.
BAM!
I don't know about you, but nothing says Easter better than a sunny colored dress and a white bonnet. Am I right?
Kiara is such a good baby. I can't wait to see her for her ONE year photo shoot.
]]>
They are fun, they are loving and they are active (c'mon 3 boys...that's just crazy-life there).
I'm a sucker for black and whites. :) HOW lovely are they? I mean, they can't get any more photogenic than this family.
PLUS, they let me photograph them at one of the most awesome vacant buildings in Michigan City, Indiana.
I big puffy heart this location..and this family.
Booger. Escapee...I think he was running up to give me a hug...YEP, I'd almost bet on it. ;)
:) Thank you Palko Family for allowing me this pleasure of capturing your love.
]]>
Speaking of the past... :) Here is a 6 month old session (I think she was more like 7 or 8 months, but the concepts are the same).
Kiara is a special girl. She had Santa visit her for her session. LUCKY!!!
Right? Who has this much CLOUT to get Santa to come to their photo session? Kiara, Princess Kiara does. :)
Rock on Princess Kiara. :)

but it snowed today.
it's April.
spring.
so I can totally still share fall photos. right? right. :D
Meet Carolyn and Evan. These are pretty amazing kids.
Fall is such a beautiful time here in Northwest Indiana!!
Evan is a beast at football...and wrestling...and I imagine he's a beast at anything he tries.
Carolyn is a sweet, SUPER SMART, fabulous young lady.
I had a really good time hanging out with these two. Here's my favorites from that day.
If the kids are great, then they came from greats. I love this last one of the three of them. Next time we will have to get Dad in there too.
]]>I think I have it. Maybe it's more cabin fever; I'm ready for some warmer weather.
Even though our winters have been pretty mild, it's just not a fun time for me to be outside....and I feel so uninspired in the winter months. Dreary and yuck.
I do have great Senior images to look back on though, remember the warmer weather and remember that feeling I had back in the day when all I could think about was graduating.
Katie and Jordan are there now....counting down the days until they can say goodbye to their high school days and move into their adulthood and university studies.
These two have grown into beautiful people...I am thrilled to see how they manage their adulthood. I have complete faith that they will be fabulous in what ever they choose to do and be.
Jordan and Katie...“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

Sharing some of my favorite photos from that night... :)
CAH-RAH-ZEEE. Here is a lover boy that I photographed back in AUGUST. :)
One of the many reasons that I have enjoyed photography is meeting up with people I haven't seen in a long time. I love seeing their families and how their dynamics have changed since I had last seen them.
Meet Evan. He is the son to my daughter's two year old preschool teacher. So Evan's mom is someone that I had daily contact with 10 years ago. After she left the school I had very little contact with her and her life. Imagine my surprising running into her again to see that she had another baby?!?!?!
Now that "baby" is TWO.
LOOK AT THAT FUTURE LADIES MAN.
He has the BEST hair. He can rock the Beiber hairdo like no other two year old I know.
Evan was such a cutie. He would run and then look back at me, like, "is she still watching me?"
He was pretty serious...but we did some smiles from him too. *heart melts*
and....he was definitely on the run...a lot. :)
Thank you MISS VERNA for letting me capture Evan in all his glory!!!
I really love them. I love to snuggle them, I love the smell them and I love photographing them.
I had the pleasure of photographing Miss Eva. (love her name)
Eva took some time to settle down, but when she did? It was pure bliss.
Even her sibling was involved and interested in what was going on. At one point, this kitty grabbed a headband and was tossing it around. :)
*teehee*
I think that Eva enjoyed her session with me. Her Mommy said I was the baby whisperer. It's not the first time I've been called this. :)
The connection between a Dad and his daughter is pretty special...I think that triples when you are the only child.
Kirsten was just drawn to her dad. I am betting it also has something to do with peas in a pod.
Kirsten is a goofy girl, she is a happy girl, she is full of life and joy.
She spoke about loving animals and photography. I've seen some of her photos, she does a great job. You can see she has passion. I loved listening to her talk about her loves.
Thank you Treptow family for asking me to be a part of your family photos. We had a beautiful day and time on the beach.
Those chubby cheeks, those beautiful brown eyes. YOU make my heart swoon. I am thrilled to continue to watch you grow!

You are who you are, right in this moment. Your kids are who they are, right in this moment. Why not freeze time through photos?
Family photos are to be treasured...and shared...and loved.
Meet the Hinko Family...
Shannon is my daughter's Aunt. Adison looks so much like her Auntie, doesn't she? When Adison laughs she SOUNDS like her Auntie Shannon. It's funny, I've always known that they resembled each other, but something about putting a camera in front of my face studying Shannon and her expression through my lens made the realization that much clearer.
Same happened when I was photographing her son, Devon.
I had to pull the camera away from my face and laugh. I turned to Shannon and said, "wow! He looks like your dad."
Crazy how genes work, isn't it?
These boys were so stinking cute together...true brotherly love!

Probably to date, my less sleepy newborn yet. I loved the challenge...and really love the results we got once she was finally to sleep.
:) love her toes, her belly button and her chubby little cheeks.
look at that beautiful baby hair...
Such soft pink skin.
Thank you to Kiara and her family for allowing me to be a baby whisperer. It was all worth the work. :)
]]>So much so that Mr. Koyie is ONE!!! How is that possible? How is it possible that a young lady that I use to baby sit for is now a Mom to a ONE YEAR OLD???
Not to make this about me getting old...but damn. I am getting old.
Koyie is just a happy, energetic boy. A boy through and through.
He likes running. He likes dirt. He likes bats and balls. He is named after a Cubs player afterall. :) I will have to work on him to convert him over the dark side. ;) GO Sox. (Koyie, come to the winning side. :))
I don't think I will have any luck with converting him....lol. Mom and Dad are big Cubs fans too. PSH. ;)
It was a pleasure sharing this special day with the Hayes family. Many, many more years of love to come.
Happy Birthday little buddy. MMMM cake.
Click here to see more from Koyie's ONE year old session.
Tip for one year old sessions? BE READY FOR ANYTHING...and quite honestly EVERYTHING. It's a go with the flow kind of session. I love chasing after and just capturing them in all of their one year old glory.
]]>The sun, the sand, the water, we love it all.
This family especially loves the beach...they visit it more often than I take photos out there. LOL.
See them? Aren't they all modelesque??? I love when the families make my job so easy.
I am so thankful for photography and the kids all being in sports, it makes friendships like the one with the Zavalas priceless.
You guys are a great family, I am glad I got to document how wonderful you all are to each other.
Beauty shines from within and this family is as good as it gets. They are fun, loving and just plain awesome!
]]>Well, thankfully for our photo session, Viviana was not lively...she was a perfect angel. This precious baby was out like a light. She was peaceful and calm. I think that has a lot to do with her beautiful mom.
This teeny tiny baby was in heaven in her Mom's arms. She would settle down just at the sound of her Mom's voice. It was one of the most beautiful truths to maternal interaction....there's nothing like it.
Look at that little button nose, couldn't you just steal it?
All that hair, and perfect little lips.
Nothing says baby girl more than a pink bowed tutu.
So tiny. Of all the images I took and THOUGHT were my favorite when I looked at the back of my camera...this next one truly ended up being my favorite and a true representation of how easy Viviana and her family made the whole photo shoot.
Last but not least....a purple and black tutu. :) Too sweet.
Teehee, love that little face. Love all of that hair. What a perfect little baby. I hope to see Viviana and her family again.

]]>I kid you not, when I wasn't snapping pictures they were even cuter together than when I had the camera in front of my face.
At one point I turned around and saw Nick giving Megan a piggy back ride so she didn't have to walk through the "field".
My goodness. Anywho.
I introduce you to the future Mr. and Mrs.
This weekend they will seal their love with a kiss...and some rings...and their family and loved ones. It's going to be amazing.
I love weddings, I love the emotion...and I love capturing those moments. I can't wait to see Nick and Megan get married. It's going to be awesome.
I can't wait to see her father marry them.
I can't wait to see her dress, her shoes, her flowers, all of it. All of it, I love weddings.
Megan and Nick, I wish you both all the best in your new life together. I can't wait to witness your special day together.

Well, if it is, then I am a conceited, because, I do. I do make good looking babies. Sure their dads had some part...I guess. ;)
Sam.
When we were trying to come up with boy names, I wanted a STRONG name.
Samuel.
Sam.
He's a stink pot, and not in a gassy boy kind of way although he is that too.
He's smart, he's observant, he's moody.
He's my son.
He can be oh so sweet and thoughtful.
He can be down right nasty.
He's inquisitive.
He thinks he's always right.
Dammit, he is my son. ;)
Sam. He "gets" things that should be over his head.
He's 8, going on 16.
He loves admiring himself in the mirror and with those eyes? I can't blame him.
He is my son. He fights with his sister, yet secretly loves her death.
He is my son. I adore this boy. Maybe too much. :)

Nah, I am not bias. She is beautiful. My 11 1/2 year old. The 1/2 is important, ya know.
She texts and Facebooks, a lot.
A LOT.
She plays softball. She's on the swim team. She's a girl scout.
She's funny. She can be very thoughtful. She's sarcastic.
She is has my nose and my hands, she has her father's eyes and his coloring. Sometimes when she is telling me a story she reminds me of him.
She sometimes fights with me, as I once did with my own mother. It gives me faith that one day she and I will be friends, but for now...I am her mother. Period.
I love watching this young lady grow and become a more beautiful person.
She is my buggy girl. I love her.
]]>
I am so thankful for the people I have in my life, friends, family and even the acquaintances.
Another reminder from losing my friend, is the importance of family photos. I know, you can say, "Sure, Stacie, you say that because you're a photographer, but really?"
YES REALLY!!! Photographer or not. Photos are the ONE thing that can spark your memories, transport you to the exact time the photo was taken. Photos are to be cherished.
My vow is to have a professional picture taken of me and kids each year. I do.
Enough of my blabbering. ;)
Let me share with you a recent family photo shoot. It is MY GREAT PLEASURE to present to you...

Due to chemotherapy not being effective, fluid around her heart and the cancer spreading to her bones, doctors have have referred her back to hospice to do comfort care for the rest of her fight against cancer.
Really though, once Hospice is called in is it a fight at all? No.
It's a throw in of the towel...and it really sucks. Comfort care. Where is the comfort in knowing there is nothing left to do but wait to die?
At 36.
A mom, to two kids, 11 and 3.
A wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
Her life as she imagined it, will never come to fruition.
Her husband is coping.
Her kids are managing.
Their family is in my thoughts everyday.
Photographers can give such a wonderful gift to a family that is suffering so deeply. It makes what we do mean something in a world that sometimes doesn't make sense.
